Co-Founder Brian Caudill is a lifelong Kentuckian who retired from a successful career in corporate accounting in the healthcare industry. He has volunteered with many Louisville non-profits and political organizations, and has seen firsthand that the current political system is not serving its constituents. As the Chair and Treasurer of Unite Kentucky, he is committed to supporting community-led candidates committed to accountability.
Founder Kyle West grew up in Maine, but fell in love with Kentucky after moving here with his wife, a Louisville native. As Unite Kentucky's Campaign Director, Kyle brings a decade of experience working on Democratic political campaigns and organizations in Kentucky and across the country. While Executive Director for the Louisville Democratic Party Chair from 2017-2019, Kyle led the party's volunteer and candidate training programs, voter registration, and Get Out The Vote efforts, which resulted in Democrats regaining seats lost in 2016. In 2024, Kyle started Unite Kentucky because he saw that regular people were disconnected from and disillusioned with politics. He is committed to providing organizing and training support to rural and working-class community organizations in support of candidates who want to change the status quo.
Co-founder Sydney McClure spent part of her childhood in Louisville and moved back in 2019. Throughout her corporate brand management career, Sydney was active in community service and advocacy projects. Last year, she left the corporate world to pursue her interest in advocacy, joining Unite Kentucky. As the organization’s Executive Director, she is eager to use her business acumen to further Unite Kentucky’s vision of building a Commonwealth where elected officials are accountable to their communities.
JP Davis is a lifelong Kentuckian who grew up in Eastern Kentucky before establishing himself in Louisville as a visionary multi-preneur strategist and fundraiser for an array of charitable and political causes benefiting Kentuckians. JP has never forgotten his roots and has been increasingly concerned about how the political dysfunction is impacting the state, particularly in his hometown. For him, being the Fundraising Chair for Unite Kentucky is an opportunity to move beyond parties to build a state-wide coalition for change.
Dr. Katie Greene is a lifelong Kentuckian who has dedicated her career to public service, first as the Executive Director of Blackacre Conservancy and later by serving as a Corporate Responsibility Specialist at LG&E and KU Energy for the past 16 years. This year, she founded motherhoodforgood.ky, to encourage greater civic involvement and awareness. As the Chair of the Communications Committee, she is eager to use her expertise as a public servant and advocate to drive greater awareness of Unite Kentucky's mission and vision.
Dr. Josh Christensen is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the Norton Orthopedic Institute. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. While originally from Nebraska, Dr. Christensen decided to stay in Louisville after medical school, and he has been engaged in the local community and an active fundraiser in local politics. He is committed to supporting rural and working-class communities, and as Co-Chair of the Fundraising Committee, he is using his experience to support Unite Kentucky's work.
Patrick Usher is a lifelong Kentuckian with deep roots in the state. He is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Governance at Usher Transport, a Kentucky-based trucking company that has been in his family for four generations. In 2024, his interest in good governance and community service compelled him to pursue a JD from Brandeis School of Law and to join the Unite Kentucky Board. He looks forward to bringing his corporate and legal background to his role as the Co-Chair of the Campaign Committee, as it builds the strategy to engage rural and working-class communities.
